How to cook rice?

In the 'Minimalistic Indian Cooking' section, initially I wish to post the very basic recipe – How to cook rice?

Ingredients:
Rice – 1 small teacup or 150ml measure
Water – 2¼ teacups (if you need the rice to be soft, you may use 2.5 to 3 teacups of water)

Method: Wash the rice well and add it to the pressure cooker. Add the required quantity of water and cover the lid. Check if the steam escapes through the nozzle, and then place the weight. Cook on medium flame. After pressure builds up and the cooker starts to whistle, keep the fire on for 5 whistles. Switch off the fire. Wait for the pressure to subside and then open the lid. Your rice is ready!
