Sparrows are back !

Good Morning! Well it is a rainy morning in Chennai. Sudden downpour, though for a short while, has brought relief from high humidity. Nonetheless, I was pleasantly surprised to see a little sparrow perched on my window. About time too...

I decided to write this post as an update to my previous post on 'House Sparrows' way back in May. In this post, I shared my thoughts on why sparrows have not been sighted in major cities as well as country side for a long time, as well as my experience with sparrows. At that time, a couple of sparrows started living on the wild lemon tree just outside my bed room window, and to my utter disappointment they went missing after a week.

However, I was very pleased to find them back on their favorite wild lemon tree few days ago. Thanks to the rain, one of them took shelter under the Sunshade. I managed to take a photograph with the poor lighting available. I had to take the photo from inside, silently through the net window. Pardon the quality of the picture.

Hope you can see the sparrow perched on the window!
I guess good times are back for the sparrows! This means there is some improvement in the environmental issues affecting these birds. Let's hope for the best.
