Effortless Veg Pizza !


First of all, this post is intended for those, who are living away from home and indulging in self-cooking! However, home makers can also use this recipe for Sunday quick lunch or dinner.

Well, if you are back from work exhausted and need to fix a quick dinner, this ‘effortless pizza’ is ideal for you. You can simply put together the ingredients as outlined below and have your dinner ready in just 20 minutes! What's more? You don't have to be great cook for getting this right! Just try this out...

Ingredients: 
Pizza base – medium, 2 no
Pizza sauce – as required*
Mozzarella cheese – 100 gms
Tomato – 1 no
Onion – 1 no
Capsicum – small, 1 no
Oregano – to taste
Basil – to taste
Red chilli flakes – to taste

*Different brands of pizza sauce are available in the market. Buy the product of your choice.

Note: You may also use steamed sweet corn, pickled olives or gherkins, yellow/ red bell pepper or pineapple pieces, in desired combination for the vegetable topping.

Method: Cut onion and tomato into thin slices. Deseed the capsicum and cut it into thin rings. Grate mozzarella cheese using a fine grater. Keep aside. Spread pizza sauce generously on the pizza base (Fig 1).

Arrange the cut vegetables on the base to cover the entire surface. Sprinkle oregano, basil and red chilli flakes on the vegetables (Fig 2).

Spread half the quantity of grated cheese on the pizza base so as to cover the entire surface. Transfer the pizza to a microwave safe glass tray (Fig 3). Repeat the same process with the second pizza base.

Oven Fresh Pizza: Preheat the microwave oven at 2000C for 2 minutes using convection mode. Place the tray containing pizza in the microwave oven and bake at 2000C for 6 minutes using convection mode. Remove from the oven and allow it to cool for a couple of minutes. Your pizza is ready! Cut into quarters and serve hot!

Stove Top Pizza: You don't have a microwave oven? No Problem. You can still make your pizza using a tava. Heat the tava on medium flame, and once hot, place the pizza topped with vegetables and cheese on the tava. Cover with a raised lid and heat on low flame for 1-2 minutes or till the cheese melts. Remove the pizza using a flat spoon, cut it into quarters and serve hot.
