Simple
garlic rice is my husband’s favorite dish and he shared this recipe with me. It
is a simple, tasty and easy-to-make ‘mixed rice preparation’ with the subtle flavor of garlic.
You can even use the previous day’s leftover rice for this recipe. If
you like garlic, you will definitely enjoy ‘Simple Garlic Rice’.
Ingredients: (Serves one)
Raw rice – ¾
tumbler or 150ml measure
Garlic – 6 pods,
skinned whole
Onion – 1 no,
chopped
Dried red
chilli – 3 no (குண்டு மிளகாய் வத்தல்)
Oil – 2 tablespoons
Mustard
seeds – 1 teaspoon
Split urad
dhal – 1 teaspoon
Curry leaves
– a few
Simple Garlic Rice (பூண்டு சாதம்) |
Method: Wash and cook rice with 1½
tumbler (300ml) of water in a pressure cooker for 5 minutes or 5 whistles. Once
the pressure subsides, remove from the cooker and allow it to cool on a plate.
