For a change, I thought of posting couple of desserts today. This mixed fruit dessert has the traditional flavor and taste. Hence, it can be included in the feast menu and served along with other items.
Ingredients: (serves two)
Papaya – peeled, cut into small cubes, 1 teacup or 200ml measure (பப்பாளிப் பழம்)
Orange – 1no, peeled, deseeded
Sapota or Sapodilla – 1no, peeled, deseeded, cut into cubes (சப்போட்டா)
Dates – 4-5, deseeded and chopped
Raisins – 1 teaspoon
Jaggery – powdered, 2 tablespoons
Honey – 1 tablespoon
Cardamom – 2no
Coconut – grated, 2 tablespoons
Note: You may add other fruits of your choice such as apple, mango, banana,
seedless grapes or sweet lime. The ingredients mentioned here are sufficient to
for 2 teacups (400ml) of mixed fruits. If you are adding other fruits, adjust the
ingredients accordingly.

Method: Wash, peel, deseed and cut papaya and sapodilla into small cubes. Peel
the orange, deseed and remove the flesh. Deseed and chop the dates. Mix the fruits with
raisins in a bowl. Remove cardamom seeds and powder finely using the mortar and
pestle. Add jaggery powder and cardamom powder to the fruits and mix well. Top
it with honey. Sprinkle grated coconut to cover the fruits. Refrigerate for 30
minutes. Mix very well before serving. Serve chilled.
