Papaya Smoothie


Papaya is a comparatively cheap and easily available fruit that has a sweeter and slightly musky taste. This healthy fruit is rich in vitamins, especially vitamin C, folic acid and vitamin A, minerals and dietary fiber. Papaya is believed to aid digestion, prevent constipation, improve immunity, lower cholesterol levels and protect skin. It has anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties. Papaya is often included in the weight-loss diet owing to its high fiber content. This fruit can be eaten raw, or in the form of salad or juice.

Ingredients:
Papaya – peeled, cubed, 2 teacups or 400ml measure
Milk – ½ teacup or 100ml measure
Sugar – 4-5 teaspoons (adjust to taste)
Dates – deseeded, 5 no
Cashew nuts – broken, 2 teaspoons

Papaya Smoothie
Method: Coarsely break cashew nuts into small pieces. Wash, peel and remove the seeds of the papaya. Cut the flesh into small cubes. Blend papaya pieces, dates, sugar and milk with 1 teacup (200ml) of water using the mixer-grinder into a thick, smooth puree. Transfer to a bowl and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Pour into two glasses and top it with broken cashew pieces. Serve chilled. Your healthy papaya smoothie is ready!
