Summer days are now bearable with lower
temperatures. Nonetheless, a cooler is always welcome in the hot, sultry afternoons. Here is
a unique blend of three tropical fruits and it tastes just delicious. Why don’t you give this recipe a try?
Ingredients: (serves three)
Mango – medium sized, 1 no
Musk melon – quarter of a medium sized fruit
Dates – seedless, 5 no
Sugar – 5-6 teaspoons (adjust to taste)
Method:
Wash the mango, peel and cut the flesh into cubes. Wash
and cut musk melon into quarters. Deseed a quarter, peel and cut into cubes. Blend
mango cubes, musk melon cubes and dates with sugar and 2 teacups (400ml) of cold water
into a thick puree using the liquidizer. Refrigerate for 15-20 minutes. Later pour the juice in three glasses and serve
chilled.
Note: I have used ‘senthoora’(செந்தூரா மாம்பழம்) mango for making three-in-one cooler as this variety is sweet and rich in color. You may however
use any variety of mangoes for this preparation.
